If you are looking for a quality preschool experience for your child in north Morrow County then I would highly recommend The Learning Adventure and Ariel Lissman as a teacher. She provides quality hands on activities to enhance learning, unstructured play opportunities for small children to increase their social skills and the academic knowledge required for kindergarten readiness. She has taught my oldest daughter and is currently teaching my precocious three year old. As an experienced teacher myself I can say that I am consistently impressed with the academic and emotional growth that my own children and others have shown while under her care.

Our family has been with Ariel for three school years now and I am continually recommending her to other families for a multitude of reasons. When it comes to my children, it is so important to me that they are only in the best hands. Not only for their safety and well-being, but for their educational needs as well. The best endorsement I can give for “The Learning Adventure” is this: Last year, I took a job in another town 45 minutes away. We intend to move, but have decided to put it off until all of our kids are in kindergarten because of how much they love Ariel. I am a teacher, so I feel like I know something about the importance of the teacher-student relationship. Kids simply don’t learn from people they don’t like. Kids love Ariel.
My son is extremely energetic, and Ariel has helped him to find ways to manage in a school setting. She has alternative seating for him that allows him to wiggle and fidget while he is doing work. While he is smart and excels in gross motor skills, my boy is a little bit behind in fine motor skills and dexterity–sitting and writing does not appeal to him. I tried having him practice writing at home, but it was like pulling teeth. Ariel suggested several things for us to do at home with him to work on those skills without sitting and writing and that has helped. She celebrated with me when he finally wrote his name without tracing, and loves him in exactly the way he needs. Where some might see a difficult child, Ariel sees a special little heart and mind.
My daughter is my son’s equal and opposite. She just started preschool this year, and I am always impressed with the papers that come home. As soon as she got the opportunity to work with crayon and paper, she took off and is now obsessed with drawing rows of tiny circles and coloring in the minutiae of coloring pages. I am excited to see how much she progresses in the next few years.
I have no doubt in my mind that every child who goes through Ariel’s preschool will be prepared for kindergarten..
I love the way Ariel can have a shy kid, a wild child, and a child that is sensitive, and know how to make each one shine and feel special like they belong and that they are loved, all while learning the basics. She has a real big heart and the kids see that.

My kids love going to school with Teacher Ariel. She finds many creative ways to keep the kids engaged, from story time, to making play-dough one day, to playing with their play dough the next (how cool is that? ), music time, outdoor time, painting, learning to use scissors and sharing, making friends, learning to recognize their shapes, colors, and names…donut day, crafts, science experiments, dippy dots…and it’s just as varied as the list on a weekly basis. Teacher Ariel has opened my son’s heart to making new friends and learning. He was very shy and timid at first. Ariel has helped him to blossom into such a wonderful young man. He looks forward to waking up and going to class early every morning. This was a struggle before enrolling him at The Learning Adventure. My son has grown in every aspect possible since being in her class. She gives the children love and encouragement. When the kids have a boo boo she will love on them and comfort them which is unlike other state funded Pre-Schools. The kids can celebrate Birthdays in class as well as all holidays in class. Boardman is very fortunate to have a private preschool option! You have a genuine love for our children. My son who is 7 now and going into second grade started with The Learning Adventure and Ariel Lissman as a teacher when he was 3 years old. He flourished from the shy little guys to being a social little bug! I have a 4 year old who just passed her testing to get into kindergarten early. This is all possible and thanks to teacher Ariel and her team. She started preschool when she was going to be 3 but, she was ready for it and could communicate well with the teacher. Teacher Ariel’s instruction helped her get into kindergarten after we told her that our plans were to try and get her in early. She made sure she was learning what she needed to and made sure she was emotionally ready as well. She provides quality learning and is one of the best in this town. I recommend her every day of the week!
